R r v, 5 r ' S A K 1 5 I HB5 A as ,A Q fl 423 it Girls! Who are we to discuss them, with their mysteries, their in- trigues, and their reasonless ways? They began deceiving the world with their outward appearances. They used so much padding in their blouses that a chip on a girl's shoulder became a veritable log. Some, objecting to our statement that girls use their clothing to de- ceive, may point to their begins- and-ends-here bathing suits. We concede the point, but have you seen the junlr a girl talres to the beach with her? She might as well be wearing an alpaca coat for all you can see of her. Intrigue surrounded girls' relations with boys. A tremendous amount was necessary to learn the 'First thing, Did he have a car? Since our story would end here if he didn't, let's assume that he did. Now, Could he support her in the way she was accustomed? This man- ner was not necessarily that which she was used to, but the way she would have lilred her previous beau to support her and he is probably her previous beau because he didn't. These hurdles past, we come to the last step, which required the most triclrery of all, since it was the most important, 'Did he have a ring? Just as no trophy hunter would hunt a lion that didn't have a head, neither would any girl go after a boy who didn't have a ring that she could flash at her competitors. The strangest side of a girl lun- anatomically spealring, of coursel was her club-forming instinct. La- beled with unsavory alphabetical combinations, her clubs worlred con- stantly to increase the air of mystery surrounding girls. Weren't they awful? Well, spealc- ing for ourselves, we love a mystery.

CJ rx J yay fr -rare in OW , I gf mo R We wish we could give the boys the same soul-quictening start we gave the girls: but, as we said, girls have a monopoly on being thought strange creatures. This, unfortun- ately, is not the only inequality. Boys can scream: they can whistle and stomp, too: but when screaming is heard on the radio, people say, Oh, those silly girls! Why aren't boys called silly? Cartoons are drawn on the vices of girls who wear bobby- sox. Boys wear bobby-sox, but nobody has exposed their vices since Mart Twain. Boys, in one ofthe few instances of equal- ity, could form clubs the same as girls. But their noble instincts were stunted here, too: for no great-hearted merchant sponsored their clubs. As a result, the only radio pro- grams vrhich featured the boys' clubs were those broadcast to patrol cars. The boys' clubs would soon have fallen apart, had it not been for joint meetings with girls' clubs.
