gcufi' aedmalian The Boys' Federation, led in the Fall by Manual Dalqis and in the Spring by Bill Bryson, was composed ot all the boys in school. That year, like its teminine counterpart, the Federation worlced hard planning and putting on activities. The pupils ot I946 were similar in many ways to those ot today, and their demands tor entertainment were just as treciuent. To satisty all requests, the boys devoted the major portion ot their combined brain worlc and talent to tiguring out new ideas tor assemblies. Some, including exchange assemblies, they presented to the entire student body while others Ithe athletic assemblies which the girls would no doubt have loved to seel were reserved tor a masculine audience only. Later, as already revealed on the tiling cards, those enterprising Cave- men added their ettorts to those ot the girls to put on and malce a success ot the dance Fall Fantasy. With an artistic touch characteristic ot all students ot San Diego I-ligh, even those ot long ago, the boys dragged in autumn leaves and, with colortul dash and verve, gaily decorated the boys' gym, which was used in those Pre-Student Union Building days tor school entertainments and dances. To prove that the minds ot its members could rise also to a serious level, the organization sponsored, with typical masculinity, the annual penny drive tor the Red Cross and by determined prodding collected more than the quota originally set, This was an important charity in that tirst post-war year when there was still tamine and suttering throughout most ot the world.
