. . . stop that street car . Spartans— Formed in 1939, the Spartans have always been primarily an athletic club with head¬ quarters at the yMCA. In addition to its basket¬ ball team, the club had many outstanding activities this semester, including a dance at the La Jolla Stables and a barbecue after the senior A play. —Rod Rowland, Secretary-Treasurer Junior Optimists —Camping trips, joint meetings, hay rides, progressive dinners, guest speakers, and basketball games have made up the program of the Junior Optimists this semester. Twenty dollars was spent by the group to fill boxes for the men at the Naval Hospital. Money was also raised by the selling of Christmas cards for the purchase of a service flag honoring old members now serving Uncle Sam.— Don Chapman, President Girl Reserves —Meeting every two weeks, the G.R.
