1 ! in the Senior — oj ice Senior A ' s —Although the class of January ' 44, one of the smallest to be graduated from San Diego High School in some time, was hampered by many war-time restrictions, it had a full calendar of tra¬ ditional activities. The class started the ball rolling by taking fourth period out October 14 for a get- together in the boys ' gym. Five weeks later the seniors, with underclassmen, went to Glacier Gardens to slide and glide for their skating party. On December 2 Russ Auditorium was the scene of their highly successful class play, Best Foot Forward, a collegiate comedy. Mothers were special guests at a tea served in their honor Jan¬ uary 6 in the Little Theatre. On January 17 seniors forgot their studies for one day to- spend their Ditch Day at Golden Hill Playground. Vesper service was held at the Unitarian Church. A double-header day was January 24 with Gift Day in the morning and, in the evening, the long- awaited Senior A Ball at Hotel del Coronado. Commencement in caps and gowns in Russ Auditorium January 28 climaxed the activities of the class of January 44.— Louis Botte, President SENIOR A OFFICERS Left to right, front row: J. Flack, F.
