School-wide cooperation was employed this semester to further the war effort. The English department urged faculty members to Watch students' English in all subjects. Tests in fundamental arithmetic were presented by the math department. The nation- al problem of absenteeism was also met at the Hilltop, where a new system of admit cards was inaugurated with first period teachers sharing the problems which the at- tendance office had formerly shouldered alone.
