Little Things There are little things I'd say If I knew how to rhyme, But since it is a pleasant day, I haven't got the time. 'Twould be about a crystal lake 'Tween mountains grand and tall, And on its shores the birds would make Their nests until the fall. I'd tell about the Autumn leaves In red and golden brown, And how in gentle Autumn breeze, They all go fluttering down. And then I'd tell of Winter's snow, The very first that year, And how the icy brook would flow Where come the woodland deer. And after that I'd write of Spring And of the dogwood fair, The thrush that makes the wildwood sing, The cuddly baby hare. And, Oh, of course I'd tell the rest, Of summer bright and blue, And little birds who leave the nest- All these I'd tell to you! -Charlene
