VICTOR JOHNSON, B.Mus. land Peggy Bourdeaul Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Instrumental Mr. johnson has taught at SDUA the last ten of his thirty-five years as a music teacher. Previously he was with the music department of Wfalla Walla College, Wasliingtcmn Missionary College, and Lynwood Academy. Mr. johnson received his B.Music from the Don Unschuld University of Music in 1052. He specializes in viola and violin and has taken an extended course in cello under Stephen Deak, Mr. johnson has organized a superior hand and orchestra at SDVA, Besides rehearsing special musical groups and teaching private students, Mr, johnson also found time this year to direct the chorus and teach a directing class. He has two sons, one of whom is entering medical practice. His other son is an assemhlyman at Rohr Aircraft Company. This is Miss Swinney's first year of teaching at SDUA. She has earned the love and respect of the students. Miss Swinney graduated from Pacific Union College in 1955, re- ceiving her BA. in Music Education. Before she came to us, she taught piano and voice at the nearby San Pasqual Academy. For two summers Miss Swinney has taken choral and other musical courses at P.U.Cf. under Alfred M. Mr. Davis has devoted his entire teaching career of six years to our Academy. After receiving from La Sierra College his B,A. with a major in-Art, Mr. Davis gave seven years of service to Boulder Sanitarium. From here, Uncle Sam called him to Europe where he worked in a general hospital for over two years. Then he came to us. Mr. Davis' hobbies range from bird study and tennis to radio and cars. The family pride and joy is their ,AN new Volkswagon. There are two daughters in the t familyflslareia in the first grade, and Judy in the fourth. Mr. Davis hopes to take additional work at some future time in engineering. . WILLIAM A. DAVIS, B.A. Art, Mechanical Drawing, Woodwork Bus Maintenance, Drivers' Education Physical Education Mr. West joined S.D.U.A.'s faculty this year, entering his fourth year of teaching. Previously he taught in the Church School at Eureka, California, and at the High School in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Mr. West graduated from Pacific Union College in 1951, receiving his B.A. in Biology. Mr. West's hobbies are model airplanes and flying. The West family includes his wife Ruth, who is also a teacher, and their two children, Arthur and Lora. They recently purchased a new house, the first home they have owned. Mr, West has proven himself a capable sponsor of our A.S.B., supporting enthusiastically all its activities.
