JOHN G. MacINTYRE, M.A. Bible, History, Physical Education Mrs. Westermeyer has the distinction of being the senior member of the faculty, having been with S D U A fourteen years. She graduated with a Normal degree from Lodi Normal Institute in 19-ll. She obtained a Speech degree from Union College in l9l8 and her B.A. from the same institution a year later. Last summer Mrs. Westermeyer completed work on her M.A. with a major in English. Mrs. Westernieyer has two sons, one of whom has followed her in the teaching field. He teaches instruments at Thunder- bird Academy. The other son is an auditor for the Western Electric Company. Her daughter, who taught our chorus in 1953- 54, and her son-in-law are missionaries in Ceylon. Mrs. Westermeyer was Silver Speech Club -sponsor, co-sponsor of the Temper- ance Chapter, and Liglntlaoure Advisor this year. Elder Maclntyre has spent the last four of his thirty years in teaching here at S D U A His is an interesting background. For twelve years he was principal of a Mission School in China. From 19-il to 1912 he was interned in a japanese prisoner-of-war camp. Since then he has served as Bible teacher at Loma Linda Academy and as Principal of Modesta Union Academy. Elder Maclntyre received his B.Th. from Atlantic Union College, his B.A. from Washingttmn Missionary College, and his M.A. from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary. This year he had the honor of officiating at the wedding of his daughter Carolyn. His daughter Linda, who graduated at SDU A in 195-1, is a nursing student at the College of Medical Evangelists. He supervised the student seminar and was co-sponsor of the A.S.B. and the American Temperance Society Chapter. LOTTIE WESTERMEYER, M.A. English, Speech, Library

l Under the capable leadership of this administration, SDUA l has seen considerable progress during 1956-1957. A sixty thousand dollar expansion program has included the following projects: Construction of two elementary classrooms to accommo- date seventy additional students. Construction of an academy chapel with a seating capacity for 175 students. Permanent lot ation of library with work room and Annual YOOIII. VICTOR JOHNSON, B.Mus. land Peggy Bourdeaul Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Instrumental Mr. johnson has taught at SDUA the last ten of his thirty-five years as a music teacher. Previously he was with the music department of Wfalla Walla College, Wasliingtcmn Missionary College, and Lynwood Academy. Mr. johnson received his B.Music from the Don Unschuld University of Music in 1052. He specializes in viola and violin and has taken an extended course in cello under Stephen Deak, Mr. johnson has organized a superior hand and orchestra at SDVA, Besides rehearsing special musical groups and teaching private students, Mr, johnson also found time this year to direct the chorus and teach a directing class. He has two sons, one of whom is entering medical practice. His other son is an assemhlyman at Rohr Aircraft Company. This is Miss Swinney's first year of teaching at SDUA. She has earned the love and respect of the students. Miss Swinney graduated from Pacific Union College in 1955, re- ceiving her BA. in Music Education. Before she came to us, she taught piano and voice at the nearby San Pasqual Academy. For two summers Miss Swinney has taken choral and other musical courses at P.U.Cf. under Alfred M.
