SophomoreCsIas 4 . Class Officers - President - K elly Devlin; Vice-President - jeff Russell; Secretary - Lynda Forsum; Treasurer , Debbie Frye. The Sophomore Year: Spirit Mixed With Regret ,1 After a freshman year of becoming accustomed to new surroundings and different experiences, the class of 74 settled down to find out more about themselves. The re- velations were not very surprising. The sophomores showed potential to be one of the greatest classes at SCHS, and this possibility was proven further by the ac- tivities of the class cabinet. SPIRIT was the factor that distinguished the sophomore Tritons and kept them to- gether. It was a dominant atmosphere that prevailed at class meetings, assemblies, and athletic contests. The sophomores did just about anything to prove that they were number ONE! Usually not only are sophomores the rowdiest class, but often times they are the most apa- thetic. Not true with this exceptional group. The class of 74 showed several times during the year that they really did care, and about more than themselves. It was a hard- working group of sophomores that initiated the CHICA SOPHOMORE 194 fund for a fellow Triton, seriously injured in an auto ac- cident. Partly through the efforts of many other sopho- mores, people Were ufged to vote for the tax continu- ance in March, and undoubtedly, no one at SC will forget the group of sophomores that persuaded the seniors to give up the senior quad, in favor of having an A58 park. But, it is with sadness that the year ends for members of the sophomore class. From now on, everything the class does will be in two groups. The class of 74 will see each other as rivals instead of fellow classmates, because next year they will either be the original Tritons, or else new Dolphins. They will either wear the traditional red and black or the newly elected royal blue, light blue, and sil- ver. Two seprate identities will be established. Whether or not the class will ever be together is unknown, but one thing is definite-the class of 74 WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN! t V WA. ,7 i, i 3.: ,y: .' -'
