enior ,jvkdfory In September of 1962, the Class of 1966 invaded the halls of San Carlos High for the first time. Wlyilr' working to eli1ninate the fears and nnfanziliarities of the Freshman year, the 66'ers hecazne acquainted with the traditions of the yonng high school. As Sophoniores, the Class of '66 turned toward becoming the hest class in the history of San Carlos. They joined the world in mourning the death of Iohn F. Kennedy and, because of it, worked all the more to iinprozfe thenzselves. In the first year of inter-class spirit corn petition, the class reigned supreme, the Class of 1966 also sponsored the snccessfnl 1964 Farewell Dance, Tahitian Twilight. Finally, the class moved on towards their final two years of high school, with valnahle experiences behind them and a ho pe- filled fntnre ahead. As 1lppf'1'C'l6lSS777P1I, fbi' 66'ers were now ready to establish their own traditions. The Innior girls won the annual Powder Bowl Game, and the class pai on the Sadie HawkinssDance. The spring of the year hronght the Iunior Prom, Palais D'Enchante. And finally, in September 196 5, the Senior year arrived. The 66'ers took their places as leaders of the school-inventing imaginative new forms of recreation and contributing dedicated effort towards im- proving student government. The Senior girls completed their two year domination of the Powder Bowl, and Senior boys led Don athletic teams to victories and success. The Class of 1966 sponsored the enchanting Christmas Ball and later in the year, Candlelight and Gold, the nn- helievahle Senior Ball, toola place. The dance was followed by an early morning hoat rideg the evening was a memorable experience. But all too soon, Inne had arrived, and the final year at San Carlos was over. The Class of 1966 hid farewell to San Carlos High School, aqziipped with the memories of fonr years-indelible enongh to last an entire lifetime. Page 75
