Tom Buckles, Russell Loy, Betty Nelson, Sara Young, Karen Loushin, A cappella Choir starfed off their singing year by taking the main part in the Chrisfnzas Concert and the German Festival. The perfor- mance of fhe Hansel and Grefel excerpt was described by German guesfs as matching ifs Gernzan heritage. Later in Spring everyone had a busy finze in finishing Oklahoma and geffing ready for fheVoca1 Fesfival in San Francisco. Page 165

This year the orchestra calenalar was otferfloufiizg with perform- ances. The first performance in which the orchestra was involved was the Wiizter Concertg then in February came the Nationality Music Festival. Irizuzerliately after the February concert preparation for the March Performances of the Rodger aml Hamrnerstein Musical, Okla- homa, hegan. The musical proved to he a rnost successful ana' rewarding high point in the orchestra's year of performances. In April and again in May, the orchestras of all the high schools in the district joinecl forces to present programs with guest cona'uctors and guest artists. The final performance for the orchestra came in May with the always enjoyahle Spring Sing.

During the current year, Aeolians have enterea' a new era, for this was the first year they have performed with less than I 5 members. In spite of their handicaps, the members started off the contests in Spring by bringing home another Command Performance from the Ensemble Festival.
