lariafmad Prior to Claristmas Vacation, the students at San Carlos had the opportunity to attend tlae animal Claristmas Ball, which was sponsored by the Senior Class. Couples danced to live music in a room decorated with a large Claristmas tree and small trees on the tables around the dance floor. The Don Band occupies itself with a variety of functions during the year. In the Fall the Band functions primarily as a marching hand with performances at SPAL football games. In addition to school func- tions, the Marching Band also performed at the Cal and Stanford Band Days. During the Spring semester, the hand heconzes a Concert Band. In Fehruary, rnany of the music students traveled to Stockton to participate in the annual Pacific Music Clinic. Also in February, the Band received its first taste of performing as a Concert Band with its participation in the Nation- ality Music Festival at the High School. The Don Band rounded out its husy year of performances with the Annual Band Concert in May and its involvement in the C omrnencement Exercises in Iune. Page 163
