I pg. K Qu I il Xl is FD You are going to spend one year in the United States of America. These words were so hard to helieve when that letter arrived almost a year and a half ago. However, they came true when, on july 27, 1965, I left my family and friends in Australia and headed for my new home in California. This year has undoubtedly been one of the most wonderful in my life and has far exceeded all expectations. Especially at San Carlos High, where I have enjoyed myself so much with all the different activities throughout the year. The foothall season with the pompon girls and the cheerleaders was really a highlight and I will never forget my first foothall match- two teams facing one another, then suddenly jumping at one another- it was fascinating! Then the haskethall season and the P.B.T., where we cheered from the door, all these activities and the numerous others, I will never forget. However, the real highlight of my American year was simply the fact of heing one of you, one of the Dons! Throughout the rest of my lifetime I will never forget all the wonderful friends I have made at San Carlos. At this point I would like to thank hoth faculty and students for making me so welcome and for all the kindness and hospitality that one and all has extended to me. I will miss San Carlos very much, hut will treasure the fact that I was given the opportunity to share a year with you all. Karen Kelly A.F.S. Exchange Student Australia
