In government the council developed an excellent procedure and matched their work during school hours with equal time at night each month. At times the evening meetings had larger at- tendance than the school day sessions. It was particularly good to know that throughout the year in- dividuals and groups, on their own, did much to help develop spirit on campus and strengthen relations with our neighbors in the community. One such group, the HOCS, definitely bettered an awkward situation on Hewitt. This year San Carlos High became a real school with winning teams, winning ways, and a grand esprit de corps. WW 'WW WL W' DOUGLAS MURRAY VVJVM f h If Dean of Boys ' T A . X, i Q I A HERES TO THE GIRLS A school's name rests largely in the hands of its students. How happy we are at San Carlos High School to see the pride our stu- dents have in building a good school name. Naturally, I am especially interested in the fine things the girls have done to this end. Think of the School Spirit Board . . . all girls, The Hostess Club . . . all girls, the Cheer Leaders and the Pompon girls. Remember C.S.F. with its thirty-five girls. . .all brains! We could run the gamut trom Girls Sports to the many clubs and class boards in recognizing the girl's achievements in every ac- tivity the girls have contributed their enthusiasm, their charm, and their intelligence. We all appreciate it, especially the boys. LEONE JOHNSON Dean of Girls 7 Couplets From The Love 8- Understanding Department Warmth and acceptance is our dictum, Whenever we can find a victim. 'k it 'k l hope, m'dear, you'Il not be hurt, But- - - raise your grade and lengthen your skirt! ir 'k ir Now and then a program juggle, fit you like a year-long strugglei. vgfw JULIAN POLON Head Counselor NURSE LIBRARIANS L-R: Mrs, Miller, Miss Scott, Mrs. Lehman lMrs. Sloniger in Europe at time picture was fakenl Miss Kime Counselors Miss Kelly Mr. Wilson Mrs. Siephens also Social Studies C150 Social Smdies Dr. Fink. olso English 5 Q 1- ' 5 NVSS Gfe99e 5On Mr. Connolly Mrs. Dorroh also English olso Molhernoiics olso English 8 Mrs. Lawrence Principal's Sec. 7X Mrs. Odle Head Counselor's Sec. . The Don Yearbook Class The yearbook is run like a separate little business. It is self-supporting, and the stafl must sell enough copies to pay for the cost of supplies and the printing of the book. The yearbook class develops a sense of responsibility in the students. The success or failure of the book depends totally on the staff members. The students completely design the book, its contents, and put it together. Although a large number of the photographs are professionally taken, quite a few are taken by student photographers.
