1967 Tyre Dedicated to Miss Myers One of the most important reasons why Cards have more fun is the lady who handles the financial aspect of S.B.l-l.S. activities. Almost any hour of the school day she can be found in her glass-walled oflice in the student store, she is a familiar sight to the students. This lady is Cardinal City's financial secretary Miss Ruth Myers. Miss Myers has been at S.B.H.S. for 25 years, starting as a secretary in September of 1942 and assuming the position of account clerk in 1952. As financial secretary, she has been and is an indispensable part of S.B.H.S., keeping financial records for the entire school, conferring with stu- dent council, answering their ques- tions, an acting as a financial go- between for students and the council. Her invaluable service plays a large part, not only in the running of the school, but also in the life of each Card citizen, from his first bewilder- ing days as a sophomore to the excite- ment of approaching graduation. She issues lockers, sells A.S.B. cards, annuals, prom and homecoming tick- ets, class rings, and graduation an- nouncements, rents caps and gowns, collects money for the junior candy sale, handles club funds, and runs the Lost and Found. There is simply not enough room to list all she does. She does a tremendous job, and yet Miss Myers is always ready with help- fulness, patience, and a smile for any student who comes into her ofiice. Said one, c'She,s a nice ladyf, '41 don't know what weid do without her,'7 said another. The students of San Bernardino High School agree. The staff of the 1967 Tyro Annual, as well as the entire student body, would like to express their special thanks to Miss Myers by dedicating this book to her in appreciation for her many years of outstanding service, and for making it possible to say, uTrue, Cardinals have more fun? Suzanne Portello for the Tyro Annual Staff Miss Myers performs one of duties as Financial Accountant, selling Steve Thompson a junior class ring. Patti Pjerrou carft believe her eyes as Miss Mix-is hands over the many receipt books for annuals.
