Talented musicians practice long hours Since time began, man has sought to beau- tify his sometimes somber world in many ways. Often he has turned to music to provide this relief from the depressing and tragic aspects of life. lt is easy to forget the problems of the world when listening to Claire de Lune. This is not to say that all music is escape, for how many have been caught by the rhythm of a Spanish flamenco or a l-lighland fling, and wanted to throw inhibitions to the wind and join the dancers, led on and on by the exultant chords? Through the ages music has been an inspira- tion to man, and through it he has learned to express a part of the beauty he sees, and share some part of it with his fellows. Through music man can express his joys, his sorrows, his fears, his desires, his dreams. He who knows naught of the beauty of music knows naught of the beauty of life. Brass Woodwinds, strings, and percussion blend into harmony only after painstaking effort. Not only do orchestra members practice in groups, individual perfecting is also urged. Here Mr, U'Ren's advanced orchestra rehearses a number for their annual spring concert. ,,-
