SENIOR CLASS Another year has drawn to a close, and for the class of '57 there will be no return to San Bernardino High School. Sorrow intermingles with joy as these young people bid farewell to the halls they have known so well. There is sorrow for the friends and good times they are leaving behind, and yet joy is experienced for they are conquerors of a twelve-year climb, at the peak of which is a high school diploma. During their stay at Cardinal City the class of '57 was very active. As Sophomores they held a car wash, and were fortunate enough to be able to sponsor a Hawaiian dance to celebrate the opening of the new gymnasium. Also initi- ated at this dance was the Hall of Fame. Probably one of the biggest undertakings ofthe Class of '57 was the Junior-Senior Prom. As Juniors they were responsible for this dance and the great success it was, As Seniors their money-making project was an apple sale. As in years past the Seniors left a remembrance to the school in the patio out- side of the student store. Each Senior was able to write his or her name in the cement as a lasting memory. Serving the class as President during the school year l956-57 was Mike Tarlton. Close behind him and always offering her services was .loan De Roche, Vice-President. The min- utes were handled by Barbara Thompson, Sec- retary, and all social affairs were headed and planned by Debby Boeye, Social Chairman. Praise and thank-you are due Miss Gil- metti, Mr. Suchow, and Mr. Feilitz, class spon- sors, for they guided this group of six hundred young people over the long road, whether the going was rough or smooth. X And now as the class of '57 leaves the hal- lowed halls of San Bernardino High School, may we wish them good luck as they prepare to go their separate waysl
