Picture a place where you can actual- ly see wacky scenes starring students at San Benito High School. A place where people look like nerds, a place where students dress for the beach on a cold winter's day. The school halls were filled with crazi- ness, bringing out a light atmosphere during homecoming week. The most visible type of craziness was the clothes modeled by students. Multi-colored punk rock hairstyles were the Hin look during spirit week. Julia Hyun, Rally Club president, says, 'lPeople don't realize that it takes a lot of time and hard work to put together a really successful rally. The spirit lead- ers like to do their part by getting peo- ple's spirits up so they won't be afraid to get involved. You can do your part by getting involved and showing that you care. So next time you see some nerd knocking your books out of your hands, don't panic. Just get involved and turn on your own Baler Spirit! we ,iff .c s 'l K , . ol' Spirit Student Life 1 A' 7' V t

What in the world do students do when they aren't hard at work in class? After all, school is the place we go to study and learn wonderful things like algebra and Spanish, not anything else that could be called 'lfun, right?? Most students any- where will say WRONG!! High school is a major part of most of our social lives. lt's the place we go to see our friends and talk about REALLY im- portant things, like the gorgeous guy or girl that just moved into town, or the great time we had at the dance last Friday night. Besides all of the hard work there is to do, most of us have to admit being in high school is fun land would be much more fun if we could get rid of all the classeslll. Some of the things that make high school fun are rallies, brunch and lunchtime, and after school activities like football and basketball games Out and About Student Life and after-game dances. Remember, it's a lot harder to get into the dances if you don't go to the high school! Rallies are mandatory at SBJUHS but they are a lot of fun even though you do HAVE to go. Most students WANT to go to them anyway. Your attitude makes the big difference in a rally. lf you go and just fall asleep the whole time or think it's a drag, obvi- ously you won't have the greatest time. But if you go and cheer, clap, and try to enjoy yourself, rallies can be a real blast. Brunch and lunchtime activities in- clude walking around the campus, talking, and the all-time favorite pas- time, eating. We can see that there is plenty more to do at school than work, work, work. High school can be a fan- tastic experience - especially when you're a Balerl
