lO Gawd, what do you call that outfit? Did you get dressed half asleep this morning? Oh, and your hair, no time to comb er whot?l Believe me we have heard those lines and others like it all year. Who are we? We are Mods and Thrashers. A Mod is any young person whose life practically evolves around mod- ern music and style and a Thrasher is a person that skateboards and whose interests are also music and style. Some Mod styles are torn jeans, flannel shirts, over-sized T-shirts, black chinese flats and black Con- verse hightops. Some of our other fave things are black suspenders, hightop Vans, army jackets, boxer- shorts, and long black skirts. We also like late l96O'ish looking mod sweaters or just about anything else we can find. And find where, you might ask? Tina Candelaria thinks Goodwill and second hand stores are about the best for unusual, mod clothes. 'll go to malls and regular stores sometimes, but my second hand clothes are still my favorites. Tiny Espinoza agrees Goodwill and second hand stores are cool because you can get clothes there that no one else has and that look really cool! Leti Candelaria likes to get jewelry there. As for music most Mods and Thrashers like music ranging from new modern music to hardcore punk. Bands like: Depeche Mode, Oingo- Boingo, Tears for Fears, Souxie and the Banshees, The Cure, The B-52's. Fashion Clash Fads Student Life
