FOR BUSINESS WORLD Some of them include secretarial, retail selling, general business, and bookkeeping. The only high school in San Antonio to provide such thorough training, Tech prepares its commercial students to meet the demands of the modern industrial world. While other students do their unit work, Miss Kinslow explains lesson to Lupe Campos. Office Practice student Gloria Hernandez runs off a stencil on the mimeograph ma- chine, while Nina Gonzales counts pages to make booklets and Lee Ruiz runs ditto machine. During their library period, Dolores Godoy, Ruth Hernandez, and Carmen DeLuna acquire further experience in office work by arrang- ing a booklet for one of the local P.T.A.'s.

STUDENTS Students operate the calculating machines. Experts Josie Valdez and RichardHernandez operate electric calculators. Operating of proof and bank posting machines takes practice. Experts Nedra Barrera and Carrie Morales put in some time to increase their skill. Tech's Commercial Department functions on business. Tech realizes that every business, regard- less of size, is in need of clerical workers - ranging all the way from typists to executive secretaries. Our school offers a great variety of clerical courses.

Seniors Joe Castillo and Ruben Gonzalez make blow pipes for the Edison dust col- lector System. Metal workers Joe Flores and Manuel De La Cruz work on racks for drawing boards to be used in other shops. To fit a metal door perfectly takes all the skill of F rank Flores and Paul Palacios. 30 IVIETALISTS SUPPLY NEEDS Whether it's aircraft work, body and fender repair, or any other phase of sheet metal work, our Sheet Metal Shop students are ready and well trained to do their job. Under the instruction of Mr. Lindsey, these young men acquire an understanding of metals, of layouts and blueprints. They help supply Tech's extra needs. They make our awnings, water buckets, and trash cans. Expert craftsmanship, desirable work habits, and accurate measurements are a must for the student.
