STUDENTS Students operate the calculating machines. Experts Josie Valdez and RichardHernandez operate electric calculators. Operating of proof and bank posting machines takes practice. Experts Nedra Barrera and Carrie Morales put in some time to increase their skill. Tech's Commercial Department functions on business. Tech realizes that every business, regard- less of size, is in need of clerical workers - ranging all the way from typists to executive secretaries. Our school offers a great variety of clerical courses.

ARTISTS EXHIBIT WORK Xrt students, Richard Cerna, Bobby Rios, Aureliano Martinez, Joe imas Tony Morin, Arthur De Leon, and Richard Salas, proudly lisplay their drawings. Van Gogh, Picasso, and Diego - these are some of the famous artists whose work is studied by art students under the guidance of Mrs. Free. These young people not only study theory, they also draw paintings which are sent to the Witte Museum for the International SchoolArtProject of Life in America. These drawings are of people at work, at play, at school or at worship. The best canvases are exhibited around the world. Future artists develop their talents. Art classes participate in the annual Festival of Music and Art at the Municipal Auditorium. In addition, they decorate our school windows for Christmas, collect examples of fine paintings, report on art books, make term reports on famous artists, and learn how to do paper sculpture. Advanced students work on their drawings while artist repairs the window display.

FOR BUSINESS WORLD Some of them include secretarial, retail selling, general business, and bookkeeping. The only high school in San Antonio to provide such thorough training, Tech prepares its commercial students to meet the demands of the modern industrial world. While other students do their unit work, Miss Kinslow explains lesson to Lupe Campos. Office Practice student Gloria Hernandez runs off a stencil on the mimeograph ma- chine, while Nina Gonzales counts pages to make booklets and Lee Ruiz runs ditto machine. During their library period, Dolores Godoy, Ruth Hernandez, and Carmen DeLuna acquire further experience in office work by arrang- ing a booklet for one of the local P.T.A.'s.
