Bobby Perales Back 3 year letterman FOOTBALL TECH I3-ALAMO HEIGHTS 6 The Buffaloes starnpeded into the season, winning the first two garnes. The Buffs got underway when speedy halfback Ignacio Orozco zig-zagged through the entire Heights line and raced for a touchdown. The extra point was low. In the same period Robert Perales fired a bullet pass to towering Gabriel Menchaca, who gathered the throw and galloped 25 yards for the second touchdown and the score was I3-6-Tech's favor. TECH 21-BURBANK I3 The Buffs' second victory 21-I3 was scored against Burbank. Paced by the power running of Clyde Garcia and the brilliant quarterbacking of Bobby Perales, the Buffs lost no time in scor- ing their three touchdowns. TECH l3-TEXAS CITY 27 Iourneying to Texas City without the services of injured Bob- by Perales, the Buffs were defeated 27-I3 by the Texas City Stingarees. TECH 7-EDGEWOOD 6 The Buffs took advantage of an Edgewood fumble and turned it into a touchdown to roll up a tight 7-6 triumph over the Red Raiders. TECH U-CENTRAL CATHOLIC 7 The Buffs had their next encounter with the Central Catholic Buttons. The teams battled to a standstill for three long periods until the Buttons passed and scored a touchdown, defeating the Buffs 7-O. Quick thinking Eluterio Tobias outsrnarts the Bulldogs as he gains yardage against Burbank. SEASCN '55 TECH 0-LANIER 9 The Buffs went into their third defeat when the Lanier Voks defeated them 9-U. Tech's only threat came late in the fourth quarter when Eluterio Tobias gathered a pass and galloped to the Lanier one-yard line. But a l5 yard penalty nullified Tobias' efforts. . TECH l8-BROWNSVILLE 45 The Brownsville Eagles gave the Buffs the worst defeat of the season 45-18. Unable to score in the first period, the Buffs came in on the second stanza to score four touchdowns, but one was no good because of a penalty. TECH UJEFEERSON 9 The Buffs had a lot of spirit and put on a very good game, but were defeated 9-O by the Iefferson Mustangs. TECH 7-BRACKENRIDGE O The rnost talked about game was against the Brackenridge Eagles. With only 55 seconds remaining in the first half, guard Richard Rangel stole the ball from Larry Trader and raced 70 yards for a touchdown. The Buffs threatened again, when Elu- terio Tobias broke loose for 42 yards to the Brack lO. The Eagles made several threats, but couldn't penetrate through the mighty Buffaloes' line. TECH 22-LAREDO U The Buffs wound up the season by romping to a 22-U victory over the downtrodden Martin High Tigers of Laredo. The Buffs' first score came on the fourth play of the game when lgnacio Orozco scampered l9 yards to pay dirt and Richard Gonzales booted the extra point.
