ARTICLE ONE—We do hereby will the forthcoming Senior Classes the presentation of all the weary headaches and heartbreaking moments endured by us, the 1942 Senior Class, with the publication of our first Annual in five years—each and every worry has been placed in safe keeping and is so requested to be realised at the first mention of an Annual hereafter. ARTICLE TWO—We have agreed by proclamation, and for the benefit of future citizens of Tech, to provide for every honorable member of the faculty a course in calligraphy, thus doing away with the letters “d and f , thereby assuring the students of a much happier home life when report cards are distributed and for' warded to parents. ARTICLE THREE—To our principal, Mr. L. W. Fox; Vice-Principal, Mr. George L. Fling; Dean of Girls, Mrs. Juanita DcPue; and Dean of Boys, Mr. Samuel H. Lane, we leave our younger brothers and sisters, knowing they, too, will go through the same ordeal as did we ourselves—making use of Ye Ole Mourning Bench situated in the secrecy of the Main Office—adding with it the equally long discussions with our beloved Mamas and Papas. ARTICLE FOUR—The following Seniors wish to leave their most beloved posessions to the persons who in their minds are worthy of such: ★ ★ ★ ★ Betty Jo Andrews wishes to leave a half empty bottle of H202 (Peroxide) to Mary----------------? ★ Leonard Tallas leaves Dorothy Jane-, his green Plymouth, to Robert Lord. ★ Ethel Howard leaves a curl, a slightly worn red ribbon, and a quick smile to Louise Pate. ★ Leonard Hippchen wills his ability to fall gracefully on skates, or on the dance floor, to Alex (Jitterbug) Habeeb. it Maribeth Plattner and Marjorie Dennis will their crew cut to Melba Jean Thomas, it Luther Chapa leaves his hobby, dancing, to George Rodgers. ★ Fauntcll Cook wills her ability to create last minute drills to the future president of the Red Jackets, it Marie Heler Sargent wills her efficiency to her younger sister, Margaret, it John Lovell leaves his hard-boiled nature to meek and innocent Donald Roberts, it Frances Harle and Virginia Rogers, sadly bidding the Print Shop adieu, leave all the joys of printing to the future classes, it Donald Smith leaves his swell personality and leadership to E. W. Price. ★ Anna Mae Lamanski wishes to leave her quiet ways and good dancing to Mary Ann Anderson, it Johnny Gavlick wills his tooth paste ad smile to Melba Jean Thomas, it Dorothy Buckclcw leaves her scatter-brain-ness to Margaret Driffil. ★ Leroy Cobb, giving a deep sigh of relief and sorrow combined, leaves his paper strewn desk and bottle of Aspirins to the future commanding officer of the ROTC. ★ Mary Gissi wills her pleasing personality and blue eyes to Huldah Driemeyer. it Ralph Lewis leaves all his girl friends at Earl Abie’s to Jack Baldauf. ★ Gloria Buitron wills her devotion to books to William Gissi. ★ George Wissman, Garland Thrcadgill and Henry Moy leave little brothers to the ROTC to train and discipline; they’re tired of this job themselves, it Nell Kohlenberg wills her dancing ability to Billy Cartwright it Joyce Sanderson leaves a worn out pencil and a cure for writer’s cramp to the future Secretary of the Senior Class, it John Holterman places all the loves of his life in the care of Kenneth Hogue, it Geraldine Baldy and Esther Mae Manning leave Lois Moore to carry on and take care of everything, it William Cuesta and Edmund Cantu are leaving Fernando Colo-oy to Mrs. Free to use as she sees fit. ★ Mildred Black, after many hours of pondering, has decided to leave her worn out Cosmetology uniform to Betty Ncyrey. ★ Henry Huntress, considering the fact that he will soon leave to fly for Uncle Sam has decided to will his little book of addresses and phone numbers to the boys in the Gossett advisory. ★ Ruth Knight and Audry La Nier leave their persuasive abilities to the next group of students who bring up the subject of an Annual. SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY A mong the prophets of old we recognize: Confucius! JLSL Elijah! Isaiah! Jeremiah! Moses! Amos! Nathan! and Nostradamus! As the greatest prophets that have ever lived. Yet who arc they to be classed with our great modern prophet, who prophesied that we would find the graduates of the class of 1942 working and doing the following ten years from now: Leonard Hippchcn is the editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper, “No News Charles Frandolig is an aviator for the We Always Crash-or-You're-Lucky, airlines. Donald Smith is now president of the country's largest military college. Lenoard Tallas has finally won the Junior ping-pong championship. Robert Staewen is welding for the Enormous Ship Building Company. Fauntcll Cook now after many years is sponsor of the Red Jackets. Henry Huntress is owner of the Progressive Welding Company, trying to build airplanes. Johnny Gavlick has become a good retail salesman, he just sold the Smith Young Tower to Garth Parsons who is now a building collector. George Schroeders is a good bookkeeper, who likes producing plays better. Mildred Black is designing hair styles for New York and Paris. Warren Beadle still has a desire to be the world's greatest loafer. Bobby Pluemacher is still studying chemistry at college; he hopes to get his degree any day now. Eleanor Viola from the retail selling class, is chief sales clerk in a large department store. William Casper, after eight years at college, still needs one credit: “English! Tony Valencia is playing the tympani in the army band and likes it very much. Henry James has become a government bookkeeper and auditor. Leroy Cobb, just retired from the Junior Yanks, will make his home in the country. Jimmy Dukes and Ruben Scheffler, are coaching professional football in Chicago. Henry Moy and Sidney Digulla are electrical engineers for Public Service Company. John Holterman is still under the impression that he should have a movie contract. Albert Hillmeyer is the chief engineer for a large radio corporation. Basil Jackson is drafting engineer for the Exceptional Drafting Company. Milton Hillmeyer and Hubert Lawson now own their own department store Walter Thorman would like for someone to tell him how to repair a car. Garland Threadgill will soon be able to draw a straight line, after taking a special drawing course to learn it. Clifford Wagner has just received permission to operate a lathe by himself. Thomas Agnew is now permitted to remove the old tubes from radios. Jack Lacey has actually learned to handle a soldering iron. Norma Acklcson is the designer of the latest fashions on Broadway. Mary Ruth McCoy is the proud owner of the latest misfit dress shop. Doris Wiley and Dorothy Hazen are conducting a secretarial school for those who don't want to be secretaries. OUR PARTING WORDS GOODBYE, dear Tech, we're leaving you; We have to go for it's forty-two. For three long years we've been penned in; For all twelve years we've striven to win. And now our Senior days have passed. They seem to have flown so very fast. And to our teachers this parting thought: We thank you for all that you have taught. You've been mighty patient with us each day; We know out in life, your lessons will pay. To Mr. Fox and Mr. Fling we give our thanks. You're swell to overlook our many pranks. And Mrs. Gossett and Mr. Planto we offer praise For guiding us through our Senior days. Mr. Lane has been our guiding hand: There's not a better dean in all the land; Unless, perhaps it's Mrs. DcPue, Severe and stern, yet kind and true. You've all been good and treated us swell, You've taught us our lessons and taught us well. We've had our fun in club and class— We only wish that it could last. But as we take our places in office and shops. We'll think of Tech and say it's tops. Now to the Juniors, the class of forty-three, We leave to you this little plea: Keep on trying, even when the way is dim. Beat Jefferson at Football, keep trying for a gym. Inspire school spirit, be a Techman true. Keep on with the Annual, we started it for you. Have fun in your clubs, and work with a will— These things we ask when our shoes you fill. To go from school life into life's school. And now as we leave and follow the rule. We utter the Parting Words of the class of forty-two— Goodbye, Tech, we'll always be thinking of you. Evelyn Word and Irene Skloss own the new Painless Burn Beauty Salon. Clemmie Downing and Marie Broski have become nurses in the army medical service. Ethel Howard's latest heart throb is the owner of a soap factory. Frances Harle received her diploma as an unfinished printer. Myrtle Lieck is trying to be a good bookkeeper but doesn't know one column from the other. Louise Shinn was chosen Miss America, her uncle was one of the judges. Bobby White after many years of labor has finally been promoted from usher to head doorman. Sam Uhl was elected “King of the Hoboes at a recent meeting. James Fischer has just been appointed as chief dance instructor for the wild Indians. Earl Stcinhauer is the modern prize fighter who hasn't won one out of a hundred fifty fights. George Wissman has been chosen as president of the Hot Air Institute. Henry Moy is learning how to do electric wiring in ten easy lessons. Ralph Lewis the handsome Romeo, is editor of the Lovelorn Journal. Marie Helen Sargent is in a concentration cramp . Dorothy Bogasch is getting married for the third time, she will comment on the reason. Ruth Knight is drawing for the We Don't Know Who Studios. Elmo Brockman is rounding up cattle on the Bar-B-Q ranch. John Lovell is a traveling salesman for the Never Last Shoe String Company. Page 26
