CALENDAR FALL SEMESTER SEPTEMBER, 1955 6-9 Freshman Orientation and Get Acquainted Week starts off new year. 8 All social clubs have concurrent Rush Parties. 9 Faculty hold reception for the Freshmen. 16 Everyone gets to know each other at the Get Acquainted Dance. 20 John lgo holds his first Leisure Hour program. 21 The Sophomores and Freshmen have their first scheduled class meetings. 22 Election of Student Council officers, new class officers, and club officers is held. 23 Student Council Retreat is held at Camp Idle- wilde, Comfort, Texas. 27 Miss Spark contest is won by Miss Barba'ra Frazier, SAC freshman. 28 Installation of Student Council and Class Of- ficers is held. OCTOBER, 1955 5 Cowboys hold dance at 12:30 in the Ballroom for the United Fund. 12, 13, 14 Speechcrafters hold first production of the year. 21 The Newman Club holds a dance in the Ball- room. 27, 28, 29 Cowboy Carnival is held, and San Antonio College goes Western for the week. 29 ADP's hold dance in the Ballroom with Bobby Lewis and Shirley lnselman named King and Queen. NOVEMBER, 1955 4 Talent Show held in Ballroom for the United Fund. 11 American Education Week is held with an Open House here at SAC. 19 Pi Gamma holds first formal of season in Ballroom. 21 Phi Theta Kappa initiates new members. 23 Inspirational Thanksgiving Assembly is held in the Auditorium with the SAC choir furnish- ing the music. 24-25 SAC students are dismissed tor the Thanks- giving Holidays. 29 First basketball game is played against Allen Academy in Bryan. DECEMBER, 1955 7, 8, 9 Speechcrafters present second play, Time Out for Ginger. 17 Winter White Formal is held by Sigmas. 18 ADP Mother-Daughter Tea is held. 22 Christmas Holidays begin. JANUARY, 1956 3 Classes start again. 20 Final examinations begin.
