‘DEDICATION The Academy has had a very worthy “skipper” at its wheel for forty- five years and somehow with all of the dedicating of annuals this gentleman has been overlooked. Perhaps past editors were waiting for his fiftieth anni- versary as a part of the school, or perhaps they just felt that success should be its own reward. However, even though we may be stealing a page from the 1971 Blue Bonnet, we would like to dedicate this to Colonel Bondurant, and go on record as saying it’s about time. The Colonel has often said that he left Virginia to come to Texas to do mis- sionary work. In truth, a missionary’s job is what he has done. He has minis- tered to the spiritual and physical needs of many thousands of young men and even some parents and has educated in various subjects. While doing this he has maintained a dignity of bearing and a spirit of zeal that have been the very wellspring of his success. Whether you came to do missionary work or just for fun, we’re glad you came; and to you we dedicate Blue Bonnet ’66.
