THE PRESIDENT’S PAGE For eighty years, the Academy has been a part of the maturing, growing, and developing of the boys of this community, state, and to some degree the nation. The years have seen the Academy grow from a student body of twelve to one of one hundred fifty-five, from one building to four, from a faculty of man and wife to one numbering in the ’teens, from a curriculum of three R’s to one which is marvelously diversified and applicable to a challenging, constantly changing world. Fortunately there are few who wish to rest upon the success of the past here, and many who clamor for those new peaks from which infinite horizons are visible. Because of this and the faith in us exhibited by our patrons (past and future), our students, and our friends, the move to our new campus is no longer a hope but is a reality. We can now reiterate the phrase which was our motto in the beginning, ““‘We must accomplish more” but with the change which offers promise to the future, “We will accomplish more.” The excitement of grown men and young men with a common purpose has sel- dom been more evident than it has here been shown. This is the secret to suc- cess of eighty years—a dauntless Academy spirit. Those who leave now have perhaps a greater feeling of reluctance than any class in sixty years because they feel the tension of a growing excitement which one feels as a great race or contest begins, but in ways that your youth does not give you the opportunity to realize, you have been integrally a part of this success. God Bless You.
