Vista of the Year A few days before Commencement, a Senior sits in his desk, with solemn face supported by cupped hands. A far-away and dreamy look betrays the conflicting emotions which are his. Diploma days and Vacation are near at hand. Yet his eyes cloud at the thought of leaving all that has been T. M. I. These past few years have been all too short. And his mind, as in a dream, wanders over this last memorable year at T. M. I. There was that morn of last September 10, when school began. The first day found Prof. B answering countless questions, Captain Lynch giving everyone the 'once- over'g Profs. Meyer and Culver mapping the new students' courses for them, and everyone else mixed in the hub-bub of excitement. First on the list of many important events came T. M. I.'s Annual Open House, sponsored by the Faculty Wives' Committee. Then we plunged into the Football season, with the Panther Spirit, as always, predominating. Next came Prof. B's Mexican Dinner at the Original for S. A. A. and T. M. I. The Football Dance niched its place in our memory as one of the most colorful in history. The Squad and Platoons Competition was held in December with Company B walking off with all honors. Then, following this event in close succession, came the dreaded exams. The entire student body became gravely serious, realizing a battle of brain, not brawn, was im- minent. Then came the joyous Christmas Holiday Season-and a rest. And with the dawn of the New Year-clean records and worthy resolutions, days filled with study and military discipline. We had hardly settled down, when annual Federal Inspection was upon us with a bang, and as usual, T. M. I. came through with flying colors-a grade of Excellent in all subjects. Mid Term Finals dimmed the horizong but a good Baseball and Track team quickly chased them out of memory. Our Field Day, a symphony in Orange and Black, was witnessed by one of the largest crowds in history. The Battle of Flowers Parade and Graduation Parade lent final luster to an eventful year. Still sits the Senior in his desk, solemn face supported by cupped hands, and still his outward calmness betrays inward emotions. In a few days, Commencement will sound Taps to these days at T. M. I.-but they live forever in his memory. WILLIAM A. wooo. X 24 X I u.. llllliy... .'.' WllllllllllllimrjySg.snia::::'eru..3..s- LQfiiM2iiiiiHH7f2Qf'EliilllllIllllllllllwiisitwlllllll l
