S a In Appreciation Neither rain nor snow nor sleet nor West Texas dust storms have kept our principal from making his appointed rounds on the sprawling Central campus. His familiar, hur- rying figure has been an inspiring sight to generations of Centralites. Hurrying, yes, but never in such a hurry that he lacked time for a friendly greeting, a word of encouragement, a pat on the back for teachers and students alike. We're going to miss you, Mr. White. We're going to miss those words of encouragement, those unannounced classroom visits, that fa- miliar striding figure. It is impossible to list your professional achievements and affiliations here. Suffice to say that you have seen nearly 12,000 stu- dents walk across the graduation stage, and that more than S58 million in scholarships, grants, and fellowships has been awarded during your administration. For these and many, many other reasons the 1973 Westerner staff takes great plea- sure in dedicating this year's edition of the Westerner to our principal, lVlr. Minton L. White.
