41,4 Behind that mysterious alchemy by which finished Seniors are produced from the raw material of Sophomores are teachers. parents, counselors- patient, long-suffering, devoted. The l953 Senior Class of San Angelo High School is extremely fortunate in that this backing has never faltered, though at times the road leading to graduation seemed rocky and perilous to the extreme. One of the steadier hands that successfully guided us over this road was that of Miss Mary lane Gentry-co-sponsor of the 1953 Senior Class, sponsor of the 1952 Iunior Class, teacher of many of us and friend to all of us. To you, I. , we dedicate the 1953 Westerner as a token of appreciation for your ebullient enthusiasm: your aid and encouragement, so generously given when it was most needed: for your devotion to high professional stan- dards. In short, for just being yourself. THE 1953 WESTEBNER STAFF Marilyn McManus and Ruth Phillips, Co-Editors Ann Hogan, Business Manager Ed B. Cole, Advisor
