Foreword SHORT months ago, San Angelo High School was evaluated . And as a guide to the score or more of visiting educators who did the evaluating, a philosophy of the school was compiled. This philosophy represents the aggregate thinking of the entire faculty of San Angelo High School and many of its students. It is a master plan that governs all educational pro- cesses which themselves are a part of the school. It seeks to answer many questions, most of which are beyond the scope of the school's yearbook. But one query emerges as the key to all, and the 1951 Westerner re- presents the staffs answer to that question: What educational road are we travelling and where are we going? IOANNE CARR. In the past decade, thousands of San Angelo High School graduates have joined other Americans in the war of survival of the Democracies against dictatorship and tyranny. Many have made the supreme sacrifice. But today an even greater menace clouds the world of tree men. Once more, SAHS students and alumni are being called upon to help defend their country in an- 'tther critical hour oi peril. To you loyal sons and daughters of SAHS, we say: God bless you. and God speed you home. And to you. wherever you may be-Korea or Kansas City-we dedi- cate 'the 1951 Westerner.
