WE were seniors this year. We had dreamed about it for a long time. but now we had our senior rings to prove it. Vigorous campaigning began at once for our officers. Speeches, mottos, and posters urged everyone to elect the best qualified. We don't think the campaign could have been better, because look who we got: Bob Nickel, president. Ierre Sykes, vice-president. loyce Matthews, secretary-treasurer. Tonya Woullard, reporter. . The senior banquet was held at the St. Angelus Hotel on April 16. We had a program befitting only seniors. Ierre Sykes read the class prophecy. Rita Tucker did a good job on it. Our Hearts Were Young and Gay was the title of the senior play. A large majority of the student body applauded the play and hailed it as a huge success. Then came our day-Kid Day. Boys' Ranch was the scene of swimming and all. The long awaited baccalaureate finally came- on May 20. Commencement on May 22 was followed by a big dance. Oh, how we danced! The time did pass fast. We always looked forward to our senior year. Now we'll always look back on it. But we know that we sang our school song the loudest, cheered the longest, passed more courses without studying, con- sumed more Cokes, and were the best darn bunch to ever walk away from SAHS.
