POE TR Y PA GE THE STORM the kelp kissed the sand the water raged toward the shore the wind blew sharp against the tattered palms the fish swam and hid behind a coral reef suddenly . . . all was calm the kelp stretched toward the sun-bathed heavens the water had washed clean the sands of time the fish playfully nibbled at a fallen bit of seaweed the storm had come and gone ANNE HURD, Class XI GOD'S GIFT TO US God made this heavenly world of ours, The birds, the trees, and the beautiful flowers. He made us from tiny specks of dust, Hoping all men would be meek and just. He made the waters so still and pure, He made the larks with their peaceful lure. He created the sky and its misty haze, ' He created the world in just seven days. SUSAN OMER, Class VIII GRIEF Grieve not, my child, though your mother is dead. Death came quickly And stole her away, Like a thief in the night . . . he stole her from us. Grieve not, my child, though your mother is dead. You will live on and remember only vaguely. But I, I can never forget the love taken from me. Like a hungry wolf who steals his food He stole the life from her. Grieve not, my child, though your mother is dead. HARPER KECH, Class XI
