WE LL ALWA YS REMEMBER Seven seniors reminiscing Sat beneath my nesting tree, Secret thoughts of seven seniors Soon were stored by scampish me. Morning walks through soaking showers Turned our curls to dying Howers. Double, double, toil and trouble: 'Mop yon floor or red mark double' Science labs and one bare bodkin, Frogs in specks of what they had been. History lectures by the dozens Anecdotes, New England cousins. Latin, French, philosophizing, Watching madame's temper rising. College boards and math frustration Found us deep in concentration. Letters long anticipated Read at lunch and soon related. Jazz, religion, art, and morals Spurred discussions, prompted quarrels. Music played from dawn through dinner Lifted clouds and made fogs thinner. Evenings spent at bridge and sewing Left us house-mates better knowing. Plays and concerts, frequent hiking, Escapades and mischief striking. Dashing, dancing, week-end dating, Exams, the prom, we're graduating! Seven seniors soon to scatter Slowly left my nesting treeg Thoughts and thanks of seven seniors From my store I'11 share with thee. 19
