Dedication It is because Navymen really care about those Whom they leave behind when they go to sea, that sailors endure the long separations far from home. We all wish to preserve our system of government and the traditional American way of life. We recognize that our country provides the most favorable environ- ment in the world for the pursuit of happiness we have claimed as an inalienable right. We also recognize that every privilege is accompanied by responsibility, for every gain there must be sacrifice. This, then, is the reason why we sail from our homes, our families, and our loved ones. We have accepted the respon- sibility of defending our country in order that those who are dear to us may be assured of their rights to life, liberty, and happiness. Although we leave our loved ones, We never forget them. For this reason we wish to dedicate this cruise book to the wives, children, and sweethearts of the men of the Moore. We express our gratitude for their love and support.
