Cqnd e lbrqepmg Boy It s cold After ten years St Mary s Park st1ll looks lxke a m1n1a ture mountaln covered w1th snow Say I wonder what s go1ng on at Frank s I thlnk Ill go down and see the old boy It seems lrke only a few years ago that we too were s1tt1ng 1n h1s sandwlch emporlum It was our first term ln Gompers We found ourselves rn Mr O Donnell s shop and soon began to hear bells ln our sleep Greco who always had as part of h1s equrpment some whistles and horns came to school one day wlth a water plstol Thls ln ltself was a perfectly mnocent actlon untll he armed It at Vllblg A horrlble dlsaster occurred when the latter ducked and Mr O Donnell recelved the llquxd mlssxle squarely ln the eye The basketball games were patnently awaxted by all the boys We had real school sp1r1t Of course the fact that xt gave us a chance to get out at three o clock had nothmg whatsoever to do wlth rt Mr Baer was one of our mstructors 1n our Junlor year Along wlth Mr Rlckerby he began to teach us the real Job of an electrlcran to bulld the Panama Canal Thls was our first contact wlth hlgh voltages Pollack ln defymg the teachers warmng to be careful hooked up a Job wlth a short ln lt The result was that he was left hanglng from the chandeller Even though we may not Want to remember motor control who can forget the tlme one of the motors started to run away The shop began to fire extlngulsher but the contraptlon wouldnt come off the wall How wonderful lt was to be ln our shop the only one 1n the school to have 1ts own choral soclety Ceven lf It d1dn t meet Wlth the approval of the teachersj Butch D1Menna Marmaccxo DelleFem1ne and Gallasso were the pI'lf1Clpal members of the cholr There was also Rlvera The Mad Rhumba Kmg who alded the quartette by drummlng out the rhythm on the table wlth h1s fingers Durmg the Seventh term we found ourselves partlcxpants 1n the tra d1t1onal feud between those two fug1t1ves from an electrlclan s nxghtmare Mr VanGemert and Mr B1 Dman It was 1n the plumbmg shop that Taltt burned hls pants off Zaccarlo to prove that he was as strong as the former proceeded to pour the molten 11qu1d onto the palm of h1s hand To thls very day he probably doesnt shake hands wlth anyone In the basketweavmg shop the slngers that had done so much to entertaln us last term reorganized They formed a program entltled The Armature Hour Mustlch s contr1but1on to the newly formed muslcal was an mterpretatlon of Louella Parsons Slster Slater who enjoyed the slnglng of the Mills Brothers would lmltate all three of them at once to the chagr1n of Mr VanGemert who also llked the slnglng of the Mllls Brothers 34 O O , , , . . . . - I ' 9 ' 1 ' 7 ' 7 . , ' . , - 3 9 ' ' ! 9 ' Y , . . , . . . , . , . . , 1 ' . . , . . . 9 fill with smoke and flames.
