CA DI l I0 SONAR Technicians on the USS Samuel B. Roberts operate the shipls Anti-Submarine Warfare CASWJ equipment, which includes the Active!Passive hull mounted system, the Tactical Tovy ed Array. Torpedo Decoys, and the Sonobuoy Processor. They are one of the few rates that trouble shoot and nrt their own equipment if it breaks. CE DI I IO Electronic Technicians perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all external communication, radar systems, and navigation equipment. They are responsible lor the micro miniture module test repair and general purpose electricalfelectronic test equipment programs. During the CNT deployment they have saved the Command over 60,000 dollars in replacement costs with their expert 2M repair capabilities. They have also corrected two CASREP's without an 5 outside activity support. CE Division returned home with 10070 equipment readiness, a major accomplishment for any ship. Interior Communication Electricians are responsible for all interior voice comm unications, alarm indicators, SITE TV, and Stabilized Glide Slope Indicator. They own equipment in virtually every space on board the command, reaching from bow to stem. Their versatility and resourcefulness is constantly put to the test throughout any given day. In the morning they can repair a flooding alarm in Aux l, in the afternoon they can repair the HOSS camera in combat, in the evening they can correct a synchro repeater fault in RICER. The IC's return home with only a faulty VCR for the SITE TV system, a phenomenal milestone!
