' EXECUTI E OFFICER LCDR Pic was commissioned in 1974 through the NROTC program at the University of Mississip- pi. His first tour of duty was aboard USS CLAUDE V. RICKETTS QDDG-51 where he served as Navi- gator, ASW Officer and Main Propulsion Assistant. After being selected as a Plankowner in the CV Readiness Improvement Program, LCDR Pic served as Boilers Officer in USS INDEPENDENCE QCV- 625. Following a tour at the Staff, Naval Surface Force, Atlantic, he attended SWOS Department School at Newport, Rhode Island. Upon graduation, LCDR Pic reported to USS JOHN KING QDDG-35 as Operations Officer and after a two year tour re- ported to USS DALGREN QDDG-433 as Engineer Officer. In February 1985 LCDR Pic reported aboard Staff, Commander, Destroyer Squadron Twelve as Material Officer. LCDR Pic's awards include Merito- rious Service Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award, Navy Commendation Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award, and various Command and Unit Awards.
