OuT oT The pile oT odd buT oTTen symbolic names oT The Teams, which included The SainTs, l-lucksTers, and Ramblers emerged The high scoring Schenleys. By deTeaTing The maioriTy oT Teams in all Tour divisions and Tinaliy nosing ouT The SainTs 44-39, The Schenleys gained Their laurels as T946 lnTra- mural BaslceTball Champions oT our Alma lvlaTer. From The TirsT game Toss-up To The championship conTesT a keen compeTiTive spiriT of sporTsmanship prevailed. BADMINTCN Our physical educaTion program emphasizes in- sTrucTion in recreaTional sporTs, among which bad- minTon is included. lvlosT oT us had heard oT iT, buT aT The beginning only a handTul were skillTul badminTon players. By The Time an inTramural schedule was esTablished, mosT oT us lcnew The TundamenTals OT The game. CompeTiTive inTeresT was evidenT during our insTrucTion period, and many candidaTes Turned ouT. Our inTramural badminTon conTesTs began in June, 1946. The schedule was run on a double and singles eliminaTion basis. The doubles crown wenT To Dave Tuclcman and Seymour Nemirow Through Their vic- Tory over Brown and Brown. Joe STamler won The singles championship Through his deTeaT oT Reed.

Whoops . . . you missed VOLLEYBALL A volley oT volleyballs rolled ouT oT The lnTra- murals OTTice when eleven Teams were organized To parTicipaTe in The double-eliminaTion Type conTesTs. Our inTracollegiaTe Teams bore various novel TiTles, including El-Tooz, SpecialisTs, and Buzz Bomb. The Tinal resulTs were ascerTained when The CPO-GI squad oT The SouTh Division deTeaTed The NorThern Divisions Tribes, I5-8, I5-I3. Served The besT volleys in '46. SWTMMING The TirsT inTramural swim meeTs were presenTed on February 24 and 25. Coach Charlie BaTTerman had relays, diving, and individual racing on sche- dule. ln The ZOO-yard relay The G-9ers scored I9 poinTs To win.
