Wilh Carlelon Wood as coach, lhe Senecas won live ol lheir lasl six games aller a poor slarl. Windswepl lngram Field was lhe scene ol Samp- son's lirsl loss. a 3-2 decision lo, Cornell. Corllarid handed lhe -Senecas IO-I and 6-2 deleals, and llh- aca won a hard-loughl 4-3 game on only lwo hils belore Sampson could break inlo lhe win column. Againsl l-larlwick, Sampson power and clulch- pilching proved ils superiorily as lhe home leam squeezed lhrough lo a I2-II win. Four runs in a lasl-dilch ninlh-inning rally proved lhe dillerence.
