Even now as the ship is silent and this voyage is over there remains a ghostly respite of those days now beyond us. This grey ship rests and her men are gone to families once left behind. This same group of men will never assemble as a crew again but the memories of them and their voyage will not fade. And after this silence ends this ship will prepare for another voyage on yet another day. For there is one thing that will never depart ... and that is the mission of the SAMPLE and the freedom this ship and the lives of her crew represent. The greatest country in the history of the world will continue to sail the oceans, will continue to protect her freedom and continue assembling remarkable men for a remarkable purpose.
