At Sammamish, musical talent is combined with spirit in its band, directed by Mr. Herman Eickhott. The band played at all pep assemblies and home games - giving both players and pep staff their musical support. ln addition to providing music for spirit, the band gave excellent performances at as- semblies and has won honors, one of which was the chance to play at the Seattle World's Fair. Under the direction of Mr. Buck, Sammamish youth found still another outlet for musical talent in the Sammamish orchestra. Like the band, these young musicians also played at assemblies, for the musical comedy Oklahoma, and were invited to participate in the Seattle Symphony Concert at Sam- mamish by the symphony members. Both Sammamish's band and orchestra illustrate the variety of its musical talents.
