Now you hit it. lt's still wigglinglu See spot run. O SHS A youth is interested in the world around him, he wants to go beyond his own sphere. Le Cercle Francais is Sammamish's French Club. This club helps him to learn about his world, specifically the French language, people, and customs. Formed in the spring of 1961, the club has been a busy one. Its advisors, Miss Ruth Dulmage and Miss Barbara Yeomans, have helped it to keep up its good work this year. Along with its yearly banquet and Christmas party, the club sponsored a sock hop and several other projects. The officers of the French Club include President Cheryl Knowles, Vice-President Carol Crowley, Secretary Joan Langland, Historian Carol Crow. These four people worked with the advisors and the members to keep the club running. Vive la ieunesse! Front row: Kathi Hughes, Larry Dean, Bev Barclay, Doug Colley, Denise Zwicker, Susan Optholt. These benefits, combined with the dynamic leadership of director Virginia Dunbar, have resulted in two fine choral groups at Sammamish, the A Cappella Choir and the Mixed Chorus. Both the Choir and the Chorus participated in school assemblies during the year, notably the Christmas and Easter Assemblies. The Choir performed outside of school for members of the Kiwanis Club at Christmas time, in the annual Choral Festival, and in the yearly school choral contest, in which they received high ratings.
