SENIOR BALL ,5 M , J F The Class of 1963 left Sammamish as the seniors before, taking with them memories, ideals and plans. A source of these memories was the Senior Ball with its Japanese theme, Sayonara, that appropiately said good-bye to an ike-ban Qnumber onel year. Also memorable but even more inspiring to seniors looking ahead was the graduation ceremony. A liberal sprinkling of scarlet hon- or cords among the black and white of caps and gowns proved studies, exams, and other pressures were not wasted. More than ever before, perhaps even for the first time, the seniors realized the importance of the years be- hind them to the living of the years to come.

The lesser team has won so tar, A perfect record we must jar, We cannot beat the status quo, The vanquished toe back home must go When evening comes on Saturday, We all may then roll up our scrolls And put our styluses away To watch our team beat fifty Stolls. To thee all hail oh, Totem Five, You must keep all our hopes alive For glorious deeds we ask of thee, Bring not defeat but victory.

gf' Junior Class Officers: Larry Dean, President, Bob Hinckley, Vice President, Marti Osborne, Secretary. Not present: Pat Howland, Treasurer. JUNIDRQ The iunior year is an important steppingstone in our lives. It signifies the change from disregard for responsibility to the mature acceptance of it. No longer are we able to put off what must be done or expect others to shoulder our burdens. Instead it has be- come necessary for each one of us to do our part in order that our class as a whole might function. Success has resulted from effort and sacrifices on the part of the vast maiority of the members of the junior class. in addition, the iunior year is a year of preparation. Its many activities, both in and out of school, play an important part in our development as individuals. This year a new dimension has come to the activities of the Class of '64. A fusion of last year's experiences and this year's aims has resulted in a successful and active class. lt has brought favorable results in events involvin class com etition and a hi h degree 9 P 9 of reward in activities involving only the junior class, Significant steps have been made to insure success next year and in years to come. Best wishes for continued achievement are extended to all of the Class of '64. Larry Dean 46
