We need guidance in the right directions - toward responsible, active participation as citizens of our community, nation and the worlol. For their concern and guidance in those right directions, for their dedication to the difficult goal of making youth not only learn, but WANT to learn, we thank and respect our teachers. Interest in youth and their activities has given the Sammamish faculty an opportunity to form opinions on Sammamish youth and youth in general. The THUNDERBIRD staff has asked the faculty for these opinions in the hope that by seeing ourselves as others see us, we may better understand the role youth plays in the present and in the future. l Lf GUIDE YOUTH The ability to lead is too rare a quality, to be a good follower is probably iust as rare. An entire class that combines both is a standard not to be expected. But when it does happen, it is a delight. Its in- gredients are many - courage, persistance, perseverance, confidence, and many more. Basic, however, is an unselfishness, a desire to help others, but with humility. These qualities begin with youth and end only when the attitude of youth disappears.
