Z.. SAMMAMISH 39, FOSTER T9 ln the last home game of the season, Sammamish tromped over Foster 39-19, as Bob Ward set a league rushing record of 270 yards. Foster scored first on a blocked punt after the Totems worked to midfield. Receiving the kickoff, Bob Ward was deep in Fos- ter territory in two plays. Shortly after, Sammamish drove nearly to the goal line with Ward smashing through. Foster received, got minus yardage, then punted. Ward ran to the Sammamish 30. The Totems then drove into Bulldog territory with five first downs, and Ward swept around right end for the TD. After one more ground attempt, Foster passed, ran to the eight, and went over. Three plays later, with the Totems receiving, Ward broke loose and went 60 yards as his ball bounced off a front row Bulldog into his arms. Again Ward went through to the end zone but he had stepped out of bounds on the 24. Following this, Reed passed to Dantini in the end zone. Reed converted, the score was 27-13. Foster started passing and closed out their scoring with another TD. Just before the third quarter ended, Ward tightroped 44 yards along the left sidelines for his final tally. The next time the Totems got the ball, they worked to the 37, and Reed again connected with Dantini in the end zone with a minute on the clock to close the scoring. SAMMAMISH 20, BOTHELI. 6 ln our best game of the season the Totems beat Bothell, moving Sammamish into a solid fourth place in the final KingCo football league standings. Bothell gained only 43 yards an the ground to Sammamish's 202. Sammamish kicked off first, and Bothell had to punt. Dennis Reed then passed to Doug Broetie who ran to the Cougar's ten. Ferguson made it across in three more plays. Bothell worked to the Sammamish 30, but no further. Several plays later, the Cougars intercepted a pass, but had to punt right away. Richards and Ward quickly moved the ball up to the goal line where Reed sneaked it over. Then the Bothell quarterback started connecting and passed for a near touchdown, but Ferguson intercepted a pass in the end zone. Sammamish played out the clock the rest of the half. Ward, receiving the second halt kickoff, raced from his own ten to the Bothell 30. Two plays later they were on the 40, where Ward passed to Dantini who was downed on the 23.
