TOTE9 BREAK BELLEVLlE'Q STREAK In the best golf season yet, the Sammamish linksmen lost only one match - the first - and ended up in third place. The first match was at Bothell's home course, Wellington Hills, and on unfamiliar turf the Totems lost 97-83. The second match was at Sammamish's home course, Glendale, with Mercer Island. The fourth place Islanders tied the Totems 9l-91. On the rainiest day of the fall, the Totems defeated Foster 51-23 in a match which Foster agreed to call after nine holes. Again taking to the road and again winning, the Totes drubbed Lake Washington T07-91 in our highest scoring match of the season. Next came the match with Bellevue, undefeated in four seasons. The match ended in a 93-93 tie on Bellevue's home course. In the last match, Sammamish defeated Mt. Si at Glendale, 'IO4-72. This year a new scoring system was initiated in the King Co League whereby a bogey counted one point, a par two, a birdie three and an eagle five, a hole-in-one was worth six points, and a double eagle seven. Last year the scoring system was based on three points per individual match. The new scoring should have made ties virtually im- possible!
