In the opinion of a staff member, publishing an annual is a laborious, but pleasant task. The twenty-member staFt of the '62 Thunderbird, working hand in hand under the direction of their advisor, Miss Joyce Cole, showed its ability and talent by meeting all ot the five deadlines on time and producing a bigger and better annual tor the students at Sammamish. The final deadline, which was March 23,1962, left the staff free to work on plans for Annual Day, held on May 29, and their Sock Hop, also held in May. The Spring Supplement was also produced by the annual staft again this year, including such spring events as the Senior Ball and Graduation. E The annual statt also received expert help and guidance from Mr. Bill Brant ot Brant Studios in Bellevue, who took pictures for the year- book, and Mr. Ron Childers, art instructor at Sammamish, High, who helped design the cover and division pages for the '62 Thunderbird. Several staff ,members attended both the American Yearbook Workshop at Bothell High School on August 30 and 31, 1961, and the University of Washington Workshop on September 29, 1961. The purposes of the conferences were to promote competitive interest and to share ideas with high schools in the Seattle area and the State of Washington.
