For The sophomores This was a year filled wiTh TirsTs. Sammamish aT TirsT seemed hopelessly large To These neophyTes, buT Tinally rouTine was esTablished. The sophomores needed leaders To carry Them Through Their irsT year aT Samma- mish. The oTTicers chosen To lead S129 Jim Rough, presidenT, Pam QBr wn, secreTary, Denny Young, vice-presidenT, and Larry Dean, Treasurer. The represenTo1Tives elecT- ed were: Cheryl Axelson, Carol Blood, PaT Brown, Marrian Calla- han, Gary GranT, Paul Gregovich, Pam Howe, Dean lverson, Eric Noreen, Judy Ragar, Jim Rough, and Dale WalTers. Before long, sophomores began wiTnessing Their TirsT high school TooTball games. WiTh The games came a feeling of enThusiasm which almosT won a vicTory Tor Them Pep Week. Then The TirsT semesTer TesTs ap- proached and spiriT was Temporar- ily quenched, Days and nighTs were spenT in cramming Tor needed grades. BUT TesTs could noT dull This spiriT Tor long because soon Carousel, The TirsT big dance sponsored by The sophomores was Turning. Card- board lions and paper sTreamers exTending from a large pole helped To carry ouT The Theme of one of The besT dances of The year. The sophomores didn'T sTop wiTh Carousel, Tor Their growing spiriT broughT anoTher success, Their TTrsT class dinner. The sophs displayed Their TalenTs as parenTs supped on chili and chowder. The enTerTain- menT gave iusT a hinT of The grow- ing capabiliTies oT This class. Spring arrived, and wiTh iT came many more acTiviTies, such as The annual Handsome Harry Hop. Now The lasT week of school has come. This TirsT year of high school has been compleTed, buT The sopho- mores have much more To look Tor- ward To - They sTill have The seconds and Thirds.
