Davis has been the personification of the life which Howard College stands for and our ideal of a college president since he first spoke to us in Freshman Orientation. But he has been more than that to Howard College - he has been the instrument through which our colleae has grown and expanded, and the one who has, through patient and diligent effort, brought Howard to its most prized goal - the beginning of a new campus. Graduated from the University of Alabama with an L.L.B. degree, he was later awarded an l..L.D. degree, He practiced law before serving in the First World War in the rank of Maior. Major Davis is a member of Phi Beta Kappa scholastic fraternity and Omicron Delta Kappa leadership fraternity. It is our privilege to salute him as our president and our friend.
