I 'A sl? DEAN SIZEMORE Dean Margaret D. Sizemore has combined a full education with extensive travel. She has traveled all of the states, Canada, Mexi- co, and nine at the European countries. She finished her high school work at Woodlawn High, received her BA. and MA. from How- ard, and the Degre Norrnale at the Sour- banne in Paris, France. She was cited by the French Government as a Friend at France . She is a member ot the Committee an Inter- national Education, National Association of Deans at Women, and the American Associa- tion of Teachers of French.

Qui' D an The story ot the service rendered to Howard College by Dean Percy P. Burns is indeed a long one. Dean Burns was born in Jernison, Alabama, the son ot a Baptist preacher. He graduated from Howard and earned his MA. degree at Harvard. He has done further study at the University ot Chicago and holds an honorary degree, Litt.D., from Mercer University. From l904 until l9ll Dean Burns taught English and Latin at the South Carolina Co-Educational Institute in Edgefield, S. C. ln the tall ot 1911 he came to Howard as acting professor ot English, and in l9l2 he was made professor and head of the department of English. He was also com- mandant of the Howard Cadets.
